The Temple of the Body
Lesson 1: The Temple and the Body
Section Intro: One of the key indicators of a decline, change or response to how we feel about ourselves is what we choose to consume within our bodies. What we eat, when and how is a direct reflection of our current aptitude for our own self-worth.
This lesson is all about treating your temple as the worthy vessel that it is and knowing what foods can positively target certain body energies.
By the end of this lesson you will …
- Understand the temple like structure of your body and view your body the sacred space that it is.
- Understand the layout and energetic outputs of your chakras and how they relate to food.
Main Ideas…
- We are granted one body to live out this human experience with and it is important that we care for it with love, grace and tender care.
- Our bodies are temples for the spirit that resides within us.
- There are seven major chakras that represent the energetics which lie within our being. They are Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and the Crown Chakra.
- Intentionally pairing food choices with each chakra can bring balance to the energetics that are ruled by each area. For the crown chakra one would pair a detoxing herb instead of "food."
- A lot of foods can be paired with chakras by either color or element, below are some examples of some choices that you can make along with the balancing focus of each chakra.
- Root Chakra | Red | Grounding - strawberry, tomato
- Sacral Chakra | Orange | Creativity - carrots, coconuts
- Solar Plexus | Yellow | Self-Worth - lemon, pineapple
- Heart Chakra | Green | Love - broccoli, avocado
- Throat Chakra | Blue | Communication - raspberry, honey
- Third Eye Chakra | Indigo | Focus - purple grapes, eggplant
- Crown Chakra | Violet | Spirituality - lavender, sage
Big Key: For self worth inner work focus on the Solar Plexus chakra as the energy here focuses on feeling of worthiness. Eating great sacral chakra foods can boost your overall mood and self esteem.

Once you complete this portion you may move on to the next lesson.
